Søren Dahlgaard Dough Portrait photo project was produced for the first time at The National Art Gallery of Denmark in 2008.
The participating element, which involved choosing and placing a lump of dough on your own head before the image could be completed, was a great success. 500 people queued up the day of the photo shoot in the museum but Søren Dahlgaard could only finish 140 Dough portraits in his marathon session.
Representatives from the press also wanted a piece of the dough and the news hosts of four of the biggest news and culture programs sat live on TV with a lump of dough over their faces, while the viscous material slowly moved downwards.

Since then Søren Dahlgaard has been invited to produce and exhibit new collaborative Dough Portraits in different parts of the world such as:

18. Feb – 11. March 2010. Maldives National Art Gallery (solo). May 2010 - June 2011. Vancouver biennale, New Media section.
May 2010. The Kosova Art Gallery, Kosova (solo)
June - July 2010. Shoshana Wayne Gallery, Santa Monica (solo) October 2010. ECCO, Brasilia, Brazil (solo).

The art stamp project will naturally also travel the world but on envelopes the way mail art always has worked.
